Honda is overhauling its electrification strategy. The Japanese carmaker announced that its fully electric 0-Series has officially been shelved, while the Afeela brand was also scrapped. Overall, the company is expected to absorb up to ¥2.5 trillion in losses. But a glimmer of fully electric hope was showcased at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show.
There, Honda Thailand launched the e:N2, an electric wagon produced from its joint venture with Dongfeng. When it debuted locally in China, it was originally called the next-generation Insight, but now it looks like Honda aims to position the e:N2 as an all-new nameplate.

Upon first glance, it looks like an HR-V with a fastback and more aerodynamic styling. It also looks longer, lower, and sharper than any of Honda’s other crossovers—and it has the numbers to back it up.

The powerplant is built around a single motor and a chunky 68.8kWh battery. It’s currently rated for 201hp and 310Nm of torque, with up to 530km of driving. Offered in a lone variant, it also comes with the full Honda Sensing package, along with premium finishes throughout the cabin.

Once officially released in Thailand, it will join the locally produced e:N1 as the second fully electric offering from Honda. It is unclear if production of the e:N2 will also move out of China, given Honda’s recent cancellations. In any case, it looks like both of these electric vehicles are here to stay.
Let us know if you’d like to see the e:N2, or even the e:N1, in the Philippines.
