The third-generation Honda Ridgeline is on the way, as the Japanese carmaker recently published a teaser image of its upcoming pickup. According to Honda, the new Ridgeline will adopt an “even more rugged design,” with its debut pending over the next two years.
Manufacturing will continue at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant in the United States; however, production of the current-generation model (pictured below) will cease in preparation for the new design. The silhouette doesn’t reveal too much, but the fascia looks to have a redesigned bumper and grille.
Honda didn’t mention anything about an updated powertrain, but considering that it positions the Ridgeline for “recreational truck buyers,” we could also see a new hybrid option on the third-generation model. At the same time, the brand also mentioned that, along with a more rugged design, the upcoming pickup will also be more capable.

That leads us to expect that the present 3.5-liter V6 engine will remain, together with AWD configurations. Capability can mean a lot of things (even with a unibody pickup), and so, we’ll reserve further speculation until more information comes out.
However, one thing that continues to cross our minds is whether this new Ridgeline will be included in Honda’s future US exports. In March 2026, Honda announced that the US-built Passport SUV will be sold in Japan, along with the China-made Insight EV. And throughout the year, we’ve seen similar moves from Nissan and Toyota.
The third-generation Ridgeline is shaping up to have an interesting and ambiguous future. More as we get it.
