When it comes to electrified vehicles, one can say that Honda has a more solid track record for hybrids than full electric models. The folks from Tochigi have applied their e:HEV tech to just about everything, it’s a stark contrast to the full EVs it sells.
At the top of mind, there’s the funky and retro-looking Honda E. More recently, the company also introduced the N-Van e: late last year. However, that might soon change because of the Chinese market.

Over in China, the automotive sector is hell bent on building more battery electric vehicles. It’s reached a point wherein foreign automakers are saddling up with the locals to develop unique and special models for the country. As you’ve figured by now, Honda is one of them.
In cooperation with its local partners, GAC and Dongfeng, Honda is set to roll out three all-new electric vehicles. These models are to fall under the brand’s EV brand in China, Honda Ye. Apparently, Ye stands for ‘shine brilliantly’ in Mandarin. The more you know.

The trio of EVs under the Honda Ye brand are the P7, S7, and GT. The P7 and S7 are ready for production, while the GT is a concept at the time of writing. The P7 and S7 look identical, especially when one looks at the profile and the doors. This leads us to believe that one of these will be built by GAC Honda, while another by Dongfeng Honda.

The P7 sports sharp-looking headlights, the new Honda logo for EVs, C-shaped headlights that wouldn’t look out of place in the current lineup of the automaker. On the other hand, the S7 has a more radical-looking design with dynamic Y-shaped headlights and vertical tail lights.
As for the GT Concept sedan, it appears more like a rakish fastback with, although the production version might be toned down for it. Its cues are more in line with the S7 than the P7.

All three models will be available to consumers before the end of 2024. It’s unknown if these will be offered out side of the Chinese market.
