After a solid five-year run, Hyundai is sending off the i20N with a final limited run called the ‘Shadow Edition.’ This swan song for the Korean hot hatch is a limited run of just 100 numbered units, exclusively available in Australia.

The exclusive parts for this send-off are purely cosmetic, with Hyundai keeping the the i20N’s heart unchanged. Its turbocharged 1.6-liter in-line-four still makes 201hp and 275Nm of torque—mated, of course, to the all-important six-speed manual gearbox.

For the exterior, customers can have their i20N Shadow Edition finished in etiher Atlas White or Phantom Black. To go with the exclusive paint colors, the package also includes exclusive 18-inch matte bronze alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. Bronze-colored decals along the lower side of the doors also add a bit of tasteful visual flair.

Stepping into the cockpit of the i20N Shadow Edition, the driver is greeted by rubber floor mats that mimic the Pirelli tires’ tread pattern. The steering wheel and gear shifter have also been wrapped with Alcantara for a premium feel. A small plaque under the air vents on the central console also proudly displays its Shadow Edition status, as well as the vehicle’s number in the series of 100.

The whole package is priced at P1.765 million, with a P25,000 upcharge for the Phantom Black finish pictured here. A true hot hatch at this price point would be amazing to have locally, but like we said earlier, this is an Australian market exclusive.

As this generation of the i20N fades to black, a clear successor for it hasn’t been revealed yet. Don’t call it dead just yet, however. With Hyundai’s N division proving it’s serious about performance be it through combustion or electric power, we’ve got our fingers crossed for a sequel once a new-generation i20 comes along.
