It’s big, and boxy, and it’s grand. No, we’re not talking about the Range Rover. Instead, those are just some of the words to describe the all-new Hyundai Palisade.
The second-generation Palisade has made its debut in its home market in South Korea, and it’s the most luxurious SUV to wear the Hyundai badge yet. It’s a vast departure from the previous generation, too.

Maximum road presence is achieved with its stacked headlights and wide grille. The squared-off edges further emphasize its size, and the brushed metal effect trims add a touch of class.
The sides are as straight as can be with minimal character lines. As for the rear, vertical tail lights are the order of the day, along with more brushed metal-look trims and a wide tailgate. The back end is one split tailgate short from being a full-on Korean Range Rover.

Inside, there’s a vast dashboard that neatly integrates the digital screens for instrument cluster and infotainment system. No ‘iPad stuck to the dashboard’ look here, folks, and each screen measures 12.3-inches.
The dash design allows the Palisade to come with a sizable shelf on the passenger side. Also, Hyundai has (thankfully) resisted the urge of shoving basic controls in the touchscreen by having actual physical buttons on the center stack. Rich-looking materials are par for the course in its segment, as well as ambient lighting.

There’s even an option of a front bench seat, something that hasn’t been available in large SUVs for well over a quarter century. When not in use, the center front seat can double as a large armrest with cupholders and a wireless charger. More interestingly, the nine-seater version allows the Palisade to be driven on bus lanes in Korea. A variant with captain’s chairs is expected down the line.
Hyundai has yet to reveal powertrain details. That said, the company has confirmed that it will be available with a hybrid option. We might see a turbo-gas engine included in the list, as well as a turbodiesel. We’re also expecting standard all-wheel drive in this flagship SUV.

More details of the 2025 Hyundai Palisade will be revealed in the coming weeks. It’s still unknown if the second-generation will be sold in the Philippines, but given how it looks, we’re crossing our fingers.
