It’s well known that Hyundai isn’t just in the business of making cars. It has a construction arm, logistics, electronics, and heavy machinery. There’s also Hyundai Rotem that also has defense products.

Among the products in the Hyundai Rotem portfolio are battle tanks. Yes, tanks. From the same company that builds the humble Creta crossover.

Hyundai Rotem has been making tanks since the late-80s. So far, there have been two generations of its battle tanks, the K1 and K2. But coming soon is the K3, and it has all the ingredients to potentially become the first true stealth tank.

How so, you ask? That’s thanks to its propulsion system. The K3 will have the option of hydrogen power. The main advantage of that is that emits less of a heat signature so that it won’t pop out in infrared cameras. At the same time, the silence of the electric motors makes it harder to detect audibly. While there's still an option of diesel power, we reckon it won't be as stealthy.

What makes it more terrifying for hostiles is the performance. The hydrogen fuel cell powers electric motors. And the thing about electric motors is that they provide strong acceleration from a standstill. Couple that with a 130mm smoothbore main gun, a remote-control turret that can support calibers from 12.7mm to 30mm, and a guided missile system, the K3 can be a force to be reckoned with.
