We’ve seen spy shots of it on the road, and only recently did we see it in Thailand as well. Now, as promised, it’s officially here: the facelifted Isuzu MU-X has hit the market.
Isuzu Philippines Corporation has now unveiled the new-look midsize SUV just four years after the current generation landed on our shores. It boasts improved styling, with a more aggressive-looking design on the grille and headlamps. It also has a chunkier front bumper that adds to the beefy look.
Unfortunately, the RS variant we saw at the Bangkok International Motor Show won’t be making its way to the Philippines. For the sake of those who are unfamiliar, the RS trim gets sportier styling both inside and out.

Inside the cabin, the new MU-X gets a fully digital instrument cluster and a new and improved infotainment system. Overall, though, the look is still generally the same as before.
Under the hood, however, it’s mostly the same. There’s the 3.0-liter turbodiesel that puts out 189hp and 450Nm of torque. Isuzu has also retained the 1.9-liter turbodiesel that makes 148hp and 350Nm of torque for the base variant. This means we won’t be getting the new 2.2-liter MaxForce engine that churns out 161hp and 400Nm. Only automatic gearboxes are available across the lineup, and 4x4 drivetrains are exclusive to the top-of-the-line trim.
As far as prices go, the new Isuzu MU-X starts at P1.725 million and tops out at P2.67 million. For a better look, you can check out the price list below. If you want to see the updated model for yourself, it will be on display and available for test drives at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show from April 10 to 14. There will also be mall displays featuring the new SUV at the Festival Mall Alabang from April 21 to 27, at the SM Mall of Asia from May 8 to 15, and at the SM Megamall from May 22 to 28.
