Yes, we’re not sure how to pronounce it either. But the all-new JAC Ytterby is here, and it’s fully electric.
JAC Philippines has announced that its first EV will be available in showrooms starting September 27, 2024. The five-seater hatchback will be available in two variants: the Air 405 and the PRO 505. The Air 405 has a 405km range, while the PRO 505 can do 505km.
Equipped with 94hp and 134hp motors, providing up to 135 Nm and 175 Nm of torque respectively, both the 41kWh (Air 405) and 51.5 kWh (PRO 505) battery capacities are perfect for minimizing charging stops in city driving.

The expansive 1.45m panoramic skylight should bathe the cabin in natural light, when it’s not rainy season at least. The tri-color petal wheels add a touch of flair, while the concealed electric door handles and electrically folding exterior mirrors are nifty features.
For safety, the Ytterby boasts a five-star crash safety rating, a zero thermal runaway honeycomb battery, six airbags, and seatbelt-off warning. It also comes with an intelligent braking system, and a tight turning radius of 4.95m to ensure easy maneuverability. The PRO 505 has Level 2 Assisted Driving for improved safety and convenience.

In terms of charging, the DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. For home charging at 7kW speeds, it takes 7.5 to 9 hours.
“A good car is born on a great platform. JAC is proud to set a new benchmark with this vehicle. We’ve combined an intelligent cabin, powerful 9-in-1 powertrain, and class-leading safety features to deliver a unique and delightful driving experience. And yet, this comes to the market providing spec-for-spec great value, always giving mind to what the customer deserves. It’s a statement of what’s possible when innovation meets responsibility,” said JAC Philippines brand head Tonette Lee.
The Ytterby is priced at P1,195,000 for the Air 405 and P1,320,000 for the PRO 505. Available exterior colors include Beige, Purple, Blue, White, and Gray.
