The Jaecoo 6T REEV has been launched in Thailand. Based on the EJ6, the 6T REEV shares the same platform and body but replaces the fully electric powertrain with a range-extended electric hybrid system.

It comes in two variants: 2WD Max and 4WD Ultra. Both use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that acts as a generator for the electric motor/s. The 2WD Max uses a single rear-mounted electric motor delivering 252hp and 300Nm of torque, while the 4WD Ultra has two electric motors producing 428hp and 505Nm of torque.

As for range, the 2WD variant has a combined driving range of 800km, while the 4WD gets 50km less, with 750km. Jaecoo also lists the fully electric driving range at 190km for the 2WD and 160km for the 4WD, more than enough to get you to the nearest fuel station if you run out of gas, provided the battery still has enough charge left.

Styling-wise, the 6T REEV shares the same exterior as the EJ6. You still get that boxy neo-retro aesthetic that many people liked in the BEV. The SUV comes in four colors: Night Black, Arctic White, Urban Grey, and Honey Yellow. Meanwhile, the interior comes in a standard black trim regardless of exterior color or variant.

Speaking of the interior, the 6T REEV gets a similar layout to the EJ6. Though we did notice from photos that the rotary gear selector has disappeared and, instead, uses a column shifter. The dashboard still gets a 15.6-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the rear seats retain the fold-flat function.

Other goodies include a 50W wireless charging pad, ventilated front-passenger seats, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat. The 4WD variant adds a massage function and extendable leg rests for the front passenger, a driver-seat memory function, multi-color ambient lighting, and an Infinity 12-speaker audio system.

Jaecoo markets the 6T REEV as a rugged and versatile SUV, so with that, you get selectable driving modes including ‘All Road,’ ‘Slippery,’ ‘Beach,’ ‘Muddy,’ and ‘Bumpy,’ options for the 4WD variant. There’s also a 2.3kW V2L system for charging appliances, as well as camping mode and even pet mode.

As for safety, some of the features that come standard in both variants include blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning and prevention, a 540-degree panoramic view camera, emergency braking assist, and hill-descent control.

In Thailand, the Jaecoo 6T REEV is priced at THB899,900 (P1,666,357) for the 2WD Max and THB999,900 (P1,850,967) for the 4WD Ultra. With Jaecoo also introducing more electrified options in the Philippines, would you like to see the 6T REEV arrive on our shores?
