Jetour Auto Philippines (JAPI) has just added another hybrid vehicle to its extensive lineup. The Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM beefs up the current X70 series with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that should get up to a driving distance of 1,200km on a fully charged battery, and a full tank of gas.
Staying true to the X70 series, this new hybrid variant still seats seven passengers in a three-row layout, measuring right into the mid-size SUV segment.

The X70 Lightning is slightly longer than the top variant, the X70 Plus, coming in at 4,785mm long—as compared to the X70 Plus’ length of 4,759mm. This is most likely due to the bigger battery the X70 Lightning has to house. In terms of width and height, the hybrid variant matches the X70 Plus at 1,900mm and 1,720mm, respectively.
Even with the bigger hybrid battery, the X70 Lightning manages to keep the same spacious cabin as the other X70 variants. The two seats that make up the third row still fold down for extra trunk storage, and the second row still comfortably seats three passengers.
The driver is treated to some extra oomph thanks to the additional electric power—all in all, this new powertrain should make the 0-100kph sprint in about 7.7sec. As mentioned, Jetour boasts a 1,200km driving range on a fully juiced-up X70 Lightning, with 110km on pure electric driving.
The X70 Lightning is priced at P1.648 million, making it the new top spec’d X70. The base variant starts at P1.099 million, while the previous flagship model stickers for P1.499 million. JAPI will be offering four different colors with two interior finishes. The model pictured above and below, is the Jade Green colorway that comes with a burgundy interior.
