Lexus has no shortage of crossovers and SUVs in its lineup. From the subcompact UX to the gigantic LX, there is a high-riding Lexus for everyone who has the budget for these Japanese luxury vehicles.
Still, one can’t have too many crossovers and SUVs in the lineup, right? After all, current market trends show more car shoppers preferring these kinds of vehicles. That brings us neatly to the Lexus LBX.

The Lexus LBX made its world premiere in June 2023. Primarily catered for the Japanese and European markets, the small crossover is slowly expanding its reach. In our case, it’s set to be launched locally this month. March 18, 2024, to be exact.
Slotting under the UX, the LBX serves as the smallest crossover in the Lexus lineup. It rides on the same platform as the Japan-spec Toyota Yaris and sharing some components with the Toyota-based Yaris Cross. No Daihatsu DNA here, folks.

Local specifications have yet to be determined, but we can expect a full hybrid lineup given Lexus’ electrification expansion in the country. Besides, hybrid is the only powertrain option available for this model, regardless where it’s sold. What’s also yet to be known is if the LBX will be offered here in front-wheel drive only or all-wheel drive.
How much power does it make, you ask? Powering the LBX is a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine mated to a pair of electric motors. Total system output is rated at 134hp. As for pricing, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for that, along with the full specifications and equipment list.
