Mazda is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and it announced back in April that it will be releasing several special-edition models in Japan to commemorate the occasion. Well, it turns out the carmaker will be bringing these models to other markets after all, and ours is included in that list.
Consider our market blessed, as only 700 units of these 100th Anniversary Special Edition models will be produced and sold around the world. From this, 15 Mazda 3s and 24 Mazda MX-5s have been allocated for the Philippines.
The limited-edition Mazda 3 will sport 100th Anniversary logos all around, with badges on the seat headrests, wheel center caps, fender wings, and floor mats. The 3’s key fob will also wear the same commemorative logo.
Meanwhile, the MX-5 boasts a Snowflake White Pearl exterior finish with a Cherry Red soft top. Like the 3, this MX-5 has also been decorated with 100th Anniversary logos inside and out. The roadster’s front fenders, center wheel caps, mattings, seats, and key fob get the same treatment.
The Mazda 3 100th Anniversary Special Edition is priced at P1,670,000 and can be had with a Mazdaspeed body kit for an additional P75,000. The new MX-5, on the other hand, is available as a soft top with an automatic gearbox for P2,335,000, as well as a manual or automatic retractable fastback for P2,390,000 and P2,480,000, respectively.
“For 100 years now, Mazda has remained true to its promise of making cars that defy convention. As we celebrate a century of manufacturing, design, and engineering expertise, we also would like to thank our customers by letting them commemorate this milestone with us,” shared Mazda Philippines president and CEO Steven Tan. “By making these 100th Anniversary Special Edition models available in the Philippines, Mazda acknowledges the passion of our loyal customers. We wish to thank them for allowing us to create unique products that continue to brighten their lives.”
