How would you celebrate a championship victory? By throwing a huge party? Treating the team to a trip abroad? With the Formula 1 road show already a hectic world tour, the crew probably just want to rest. So for 2015 constructors’ champion Mercedes-AMG, rolling out a special-edition model was the next option.
The German luxury carmaker proudly unveiled the Mercedes-AMG A45 2015 World Champion Edition. Based on the already potent 381hp A45 AMG, the F1 edition can be distinguished from the ordinary variant by unique foiling with black-and-petrol-green livery, a design based on the victorious W06 hybrid F1 racing car. The look is enhanced further by a large front splitter, and a specially contoured rear roof spoiler. These aero bits not only give the car a more racing-inspired look, but likewise help streamline the way it cuts through the air.
The already slick-looking package is made even more desirable by 19-inch cross-spoke alloys finished in titanium gray and petrol green rim flange. All these are matched by the equally hip Night Package, AMG Exclusive Pack, AMG Dynamic Plus Package, and AMG Performance package.
Mercedes-AMG, however, didn’t stop at the car’s exterior and went all out in the sporty cabin. The power-adjustable performance seats are clad in leather and Dinamica microfiber. These sporty thrones don’t just look cool but help keep driver and front passenger in place even on the twistiest of roads. Petrol green accents can also be seen on the armrests, air vent rings, and seatbelts.
The Mercedes-AMG A45 World Champion Edition is the automaker’s way of marking this special time in the Silver Arrow’s colorful racing career. Since the '30s, the marque has already been battling the best of the best in the world of motor racing. This latest achievement is a testament to its staying power as a team and as a force to reckon with.
Want to have a slice of automotive and motorsports history? The A45 World Champion Edition will go on sale in January 2016, but only until May of next year. Color choices are mountain gray metallic, designo gray magno, and polar silver metallic. Here’s hoping local distributor Auto Nation Group brings in a couple or so units to the country.
