MG Philippines confirmed back in early December that it will be launching a new crossover this year: the MG One. Well, ladies and gents, the One’s arrival is upon us.

The carmaker has now sent an invite to an event happening tomorrow, February 22 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Glorietta, Makati City. By that alone, it looks like it’ll be a public event, so if you’re in the area and are interested, you might want to swing by—the event starts at 11am.

So far, however, we know little about the what the Philippine-spec model will be like, even if we did get a preview last Christmas. What we do know is that the subcompact crossover comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that churns out a healthy 181hp and 285Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT. Considering the segment this will land in, those are highly competitive figures.

It looks quite stylish, too, and features a more modern and sleeker front fascia than its ZS stablemate—at least that’s what I think. No word on pricing yet, too, of course. But if this will be priced as competitively as the MG4 EV, then boy, do we have something interesting here.

Anyway, just one more sleep before this crossover’s out in the open. Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for our content on this one, people.
