Well, here we go: The Mitsubishi Destinator will make its debut on local soil just over a month from now, as confirmed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines itself. Mark November 20 on your calendars if you’ve been eagerly waiting for this seven-seat crossover.
We already knew the Philippine launch would happen soon, ever since the model’s homologation papers came out a few weeks back. Let’s just go through the specs mentioned in the documents from the Land Transportation Office.

For starters, there’s a lower variant and a top-spec version that weighs 40kg more, unladen. We also know that Active Yaw Control and five drive modes will be available—most likely on the range-topper, with the entry-level trim having a more basic spec in terms of features and exterior kit.

The seven-seater—not a Montero Sport replacement, but also not merely an expanded XForce—will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Its 161hp and 250Nm of torque will be delivered to the wheels via a CVT. Other features mentioned in the newly published microsite are a panoramic sunroof and Mitsubishi Connect.

We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more details over the coming weeks. More as we have it—but if you want to be among the first to try out the Destinator, it will be on display at Ayala Malls Manila Bay from November 20 to 23, with test drives available at the Aseana City Concert Grounds.
