It has been reported that the new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will make its debut in a private media preview on Monday, October 20, 2025. The vehicle, previously dubbed the ‘Mini Land Cruiser,’ will then be presented to the general public the next day, October 21. We’ve seen many renders and concepts, like the ones above and below, but these may soon be put to rest.
The report comes from Japanese outlet MagX, which added that Toyota plans to use this preview as a ‘prologue’ to its booth at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show (JMS) next week. It was also shared that an actual Land Cruiser FJ unit will be at the brand’s display.
After the auto show, the new Mini Cruiser is expected to officially launch in Japan sometime in mid-2026, with production and exporting coming from Thailand. Past rumors and reports also had the new FJ premiering around October 2025, just in time for JMS 2025.

So far, Toyota has only announced that the Century Coupe and Corolla concepts will be showcased at JMS. There is no official word on the Mini Cruiser, but thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long for October 20 and 21.
This wouldn’t be the first time that reports like these didn’t come into fruition, as the Land Cruiser FJ was originally slated for 2024. However, with production in Thailand heavily honed in on the IMV-0 platform—which the Mini Cruiser is expected to ride on—and more rumors stirring around the new Fortuner and Hilux, this debut seems as likely as ever.
