It might opinion-splitting looks, but the Mitsubishi Triton has been proving to be a popular platform for customization. It’s no surprise then that it will make an appearance at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2025.
For this year’s TAS 2025, Mitsubishi is bringing in two custom Triton trucks to the show. And instead of going for the usual off-roader look, the company took a more unorthodox approach.

The first one is modified by one of Mitsubishi’s brand ambassadors in Japan, Hiromi. It follows an ‘urban’ theme, hence the lower ride height and aggressive body kit. It then gets a unique sports bar on the bed, special body graphics, and of course, a set of Volk TE37 wheels. Sure, it won’t carry as much as a standard Triton Athlete, but it’s does grab attention.

For the second custom job, it was done in cooperation with Red Bull Japan. It has mods common to four-wheel drive pickups such as beefy all-terrain tires, wider bolt-on fenders, and raised ride height. It also comes with nudge bars at the front and back. In case you missed it, the biggest mod here is the addition of a DJ booth. While it renders the bed unusable, it’s a pretty spectacular way to bring the party to the great outdoors.
These special one-off Triton pickups will be shown alongside other customized models, such as the Delica Active Seeker. While these won’t go into production, it does show the modding possibilities for these pickups.
