Compared to its rivals, the Mitsubishi Xpander is the ‘veteran’ of its class. It made its world premiere in 2017 and has been a roaring success since. The thing is, its competitors are much fresher, all of which having been launched in the current decade.
Mitsubishi isn’t exactly known for rolling out a new model every five areas, and the company is really stretching the age of their current lineup. So it’s big news every time the diamond star brand rolls out an all-new model.

This year, we’re expecting the production version of the DST Concept to be revealed this year. Also, the fourth-generation Montero Sport is expected to be revealed in 2026. On top of those, Mitsubishi has confirmed that the next-generation Xpander will be coming before the decade ends. It might even be in a year or two.

No further details were given as it was only shown in the company’s recent financial results presentation. For 2025 and beyond, the redesigned MPV was listed there alongside the all-new Montero Sport. There was also no definite launch year, but given that Mitsubishi already mentioned it, it could be sooner than later.
So, what to expect? We could see styling cues from the XForce and DST Concept to appear in the second-gen Xpander. Hybrid power is also a good shoe-in given that the current model already has the hardware. Of course, a growth in dimensions is a strong possibility.

There are other interesting spots in the presentation. A ‘next-generation kei car’ will also be revealed this year, along with a new battery-powered compact crossover. There will also be another pair of all-new global models, as well as two full electric vehicles from Nissan or Renault.
