Modellista, Toyota’s proprietary tuner and modifier, unveiled its Concept Zero at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon. The concept turned out to be a Toyota bZ4X that looks like it traveled through time, into a distant, Blade Runner-type future.
While it certainly looks like it’s going to fold its tires and take off from the ground, Modellista did not actually alter its peformance. So this futuristic concept will be gliding through the streets with a standard 214hp and 336Nm of torque.

But there is nothing standard about this modification. The Concept Zero underwent an almost complete redesign from a normal bZ4X, only keeping its tailight design. The facsia is now dominated by an expressive lip and a streaking light bar that glows a bluish-purple. That light bar illuminates its sharply curved bumper, while complementing the headlights right above it.
The same light bar design is also found on the rear bumper, as it wraps around another long curved sheet of metal. There is also a roof spoiler that flows right after the two-tone roofline.
Around the sides of the Concept Zero, there are a number of aggressive lines and curves that make the modern concept look modular— you could take off one piece and replace it with something new. But at the end of the day, this is still a Toyota and it is modified to stringent global standards.

In the cabin, the same bluish-purple hue is used for ambient lighting across a wireframe pattern that covers the interior. It perfectly sets the mood for a cool, low-key drive in a future utopia. The steering wheel also gets a clean Modellista badge right in the center.
But perhaps the most eye-catching pieces of the Concept Zero are the triangular, white wheels that resemble the widest wind turbine you can imagine. For a second, it almost makes you believe that the EV can fly.
Of course, we’re also still waiting for the Toyota bZ4X to officially arrive here in our market. But it’s good to see ready aftermarket options when (if?) the bZ4X finally lands.
