It looks like a normal Chevrolet K5, but something seems a bit different, right? That’s because the tailgate and sides have been raised by two inches, and a few aesthetic bits have been taken from more modern off-roaders to create the Ringbrothers’ latest take on a classic workhorse. Meet ‘Tuka.’
The rear window was adopted from a Jeep Wrangler while a hand-built, panoramic roof was modified from a new Chevy Blazer. Then the whole car sits on a third-generation Toyota Tacoma’s chassis. Other cosmetic changes include 18-inch bronze alloy wheels and a fresh coat of ‘Galactic Black’ paint.

And it’s equally impressive under that two-tone hood, where a 532hp 6.2-liter GM V8 engine sits and sends a lot of noise out to a custom-built, Borla-tipped stainless steel exhaust. Of course, there is a new suspension setup, which includes upgraded shocks and control arms, along with six-piston brakes from Baer.
Tuka apparently took Ringbrothers over 3,700 hours to assemble, in part because the interior gets bespoke cluster gauges, and machine-billeted buttons and knobs. The gear selector, handbrake, and steering wheel were all 3D-printed as well. The list of tasteful and custom pieces goes on and on.

Ringerbrothers co-owner Jim Ring said about the build: “Tuka is distinct from the Blazers we’ve built before as it melds our knowledge on the platform with updated underpinnings creating our desired on and off-road vision. This is all about crafting something new and highly functional from a tried, true, and familiar K5 that can be used daily, while no stranger to playing in the dirt.”
