The best-selling Volkswagen in the United States has just gotten a complete refresh for 2025. The all-new Volkswagen Tiguan features a more rugged exterior, complemented by a refined interior.
However, VW lovers in the Philippines can only admire the 2025 Tiguan from afar as the car will only be released in North America.

And admire we will. The 2025 Tiguan sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged EA888 engine that pushes 201hp. A considerable bump up from the previous Tiguan that only made 184hp. Fuel economy and its exact performance numbers have yet to be released by VW, but with a lighter frame and a punchier engine, the refreshed SUV should glide a lot smoother.
Housing that turbo engine is a shell that is put together by clean, wide sheets with thin and sleek accents. The most notable change is a bolder grille design, that is sandwiched between two large air ducts. A thin light bar lines up across the fascia with an illuminated ‘VW’ tying the whole profile together.
Around the back, the same pattern found on the grille is used for the rear bumper, and up top, the roofline segments off into a spoiler for better aerodynamics.
Supporting each corner of the 2025 Tiguan are 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels that can be upgraded to as big as 20s on more premium variants.
The interior is dressed in Savona leather with American walnut wood laid out throughout the cabin. In the center, a large 12.9-inch display is mounted with a spacious console just below. The 2025 Tiguan also features configurations between audio settings and ambient lighting called, ‘Atmospheres.’ Five preset Atmospheres come standard in the new Tiguan but drivers will have the ability to customize their own interior mood settings.
All of these sit on a newly redesigned MQB evo chassis that shortens the rear overhang and lengthens the wheelbase for a sharper driving experience. This platform is VW’s flagship build when it comes to front-wheel-drive. Although the top variant will most likely use an upgraded version of the chassis to support the 4Motion drive system.
More details like the exact size, variants, and pricing will be revealed as we get closer to launch. Though, our fingers are still crossed for a Philippine launch.
