The Nissan Almera, known as the Versa outside of Asia, gets a refresh for 2026. The subcompact sedan has been revealed in Mexico and is expected to arrive in other Latin American countries soon. Here’s what you can expect from the redesign.
For the exterior, the refreshed Almera features a new front grille with thin LED daytime running lights. The rear end, meanwhile, sports updated taillights separated by a gloss-black strip with the model name on it, and a rear bumper bearing the vehicle’s license plate. The car rides on redesigned black 17-inch wheels with chrome accents.

Inside, the cabin gets leather-wrapped surfaces with yellow stitching on the steering wheel, seat covers, dashboard, doors, and center armrest. There’s also a new 12.3-inch touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include NissanConnect and a Bose sound system with speakers integrated into the driver’s seat headrest.

The Almera or Versa for the Mexican market is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 118hp and 110Nm of torque. You can get this with a five-speed manual transmission or an Xtronic CVT, depending on the variant. However, Nissan might opt to keep the 1.0-liter turbo engine currently powering the Almera in Asian markets if it decides to bring the facelifted version here.
The Nissan Almera in Mexico is priced at $382,900 (P1,280,747) for the base Sense variant with a five-speed manual, and $470,900 (P1,575,987) for the top-of-the-line Exclusive CVT variant spec’d with more bells and whistles. What do you think of the Almera’s new look? Let us know in the comments.
