We’ve been saying this over and over again—Nissan should bring the Serena e-Power to the Philippines. It’s a perfect fit for what the majority of car buyers are now looking for: It’s spacious, it can seat six (or seven), and most especially, it’s hybrid. It’s fuel-efficient and coding-exempt.

We’re reiterating this today because of the ongoing 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, where Nissan showcased yet again the hybrid MPV. Frankly, we’ve lost hope we’ll ever see the Serena e-Power in the Philippines, but we’re letting ourselves be heard anyway.

Just look at it. It’s everything we’ve all ever wanted in an MPV. It’s got a roomy cabin with two second-row seats that slide forward and back to adjust the space for rear passengers. Said seats in the back have armrests, too, for added comfort. It’s got sliding doors on both sides as well so ingress and egress are a cinch.

2025 Bangkok International Motor Show highlights:

The neat bonus is the trunk, where it doesn’t have a motorized liftgate, but the rear does split open. You can open the entire door, or just the large window for easier trunk access. For good measure, Nissan stuffed the display unit with four golf bags to show just how practical the Serena e-Power is.

Nissan’s hybrid MPV is powered by a 1.4-liter straight-three gasoline unit that acts as a generator for the lithium-ion battery which thens power the electric motors. Total output is 161hp and a healthy 315Nm of torque.

It just makes sense, doesn’t it? Do you agree, readers? Let us know in the comments what you think about the Serena e-Power making its way to the Philippines.
