As the third model in Ferrari’s Icona series, the Daytona SP3 was a wild, limited-run, £2 million (around P156.7 million) homage to the racing prototypes of the ’60s. And yet, despite the rarity and the bonkers price tag, German tuner Novitec clearly felt it wasn’t quite right.

So, say hello to an even more powerful SP3. Yep, rather than the standard 828hp from the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, this one is making 856hp thanks to a new, freer-breathing exhaust system with optional gold-plating.

Novitec says this little power bump means the Daytona is “even more lively and reacts more promptly still to gas pedal commands.” Lively might be an understatement.

Should sound fairly life-affirming, too, because there are electronically controlled exhaust flaps that allow you to switch between all-out V12 wail and a “decidedly subtle” noise when closed.

Thankfully, the SP3’s already dramatic styling has been left well alone, save for a new set of forged wheels from Vossen. They measure in at 20in up front and 21in at the rear, by the way.

Oh, and Novitec also says it can retrim the interior in “the finest leather and Alcantara,” should other Daytona SP3 owners come calling.
