The "Rennsport Reunion" is the world’s biggest gathering of Porsche race cars, famous drivers, and collector cars. Hosted by Porsche Cars North America, the event returns to the picturesque Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway.
To commemorate the recently concluded celebration, Porsche has created a special edition of the 911 Carrera GTS. Officially called the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition, only 25 units have been made, and all have been allotted for the American market. With the known US-market preference for automatic transmissions, it’s ironic that the 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion comes only in macho manual. But that’s only fitting given the event it celebrates.
The 430hp sports car has a custom Fashion Gray paint job. It also gets decorative black and red decals on the hood, the roof and the rear decklid, and a similar treatment on the driver and passenger doors. Special 20-inch Sport Classic wheels painted in high-gloss black differentiate this 911 from the regular editions. The LED headlights are also finished in black.
In the cabin, lucky drivers will relish carbon-fiber dashboard trim and illuminated carbon-fiber doorsills. Interior stitching was done in carmine red, and applied to the SportDesign steering wheel, the door panel trim, the dashboard trim, the floor mats, and the GTS logo on the headrests.
Using the manual gearbox, this 911 and its 3.8-liter flat-six can go from 0 to 100kph in a little over four seconds. And it can be had for $148,335 (P6.94 million). Too bad it’s unlikely we’ll get it here, but it doesn’t hurt to dream.
