As part of a model year refresh, Porsche has announced that the bigger Performance Plus battery will now be standard fit on all versions of the Taycan.

Yep, the regular Taycan and the Taycan 4S will now get the 105kWh battery (97kWh of which is usable) fitted as standard, meaning the 89kWh unit has been dropped. The bigger battery is apparently good for 677km of range on a single charge when fitted to the base spec Taycan—that's 80km more than you’d get from the smaller battery.

There are other tech-based upgrades, too. The German carmaker has added adaptive cruise control and lane change assist as standard on all models. Elsewhere, GTS and Turbo models will now get rear-axle steering and Porsche’s Power Steering Plus as standard. We’re told that's an extra £3,600 (P267,000) worth of kit, while the big battery, active safety systems and some 19-inch wheels add up to an extra £8,000 (P594,000) worth of gear for the regular Taycan and the 4S. Prices do still kick off at a hefty £88,200 (P6.55 million) though.

The Panamera and 911 GTS models haven't been forgotten in this range refresh either, getting the Bose audio suite integrated as standard. The Panamera range also benefits from additional airbags, a 360-degree-view parking camera, and a heated steering wheel. The infotainment interface on the centre display has been improved and Porsche says that with more computing power it should now be more responsive. It also mentions voice control integration using Amazon Alexa.

Thoughts on the updates, folks?
