Honda gave us quite the shock during the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. It was a concept almost no one expected: The Honda Prelude. And just to prove it wasn’t a flight of fancy, the Japanese automaker said it will make it a production model.

Since then, the Honda Prelude concept has been making rounds all over the world. More recently, the pre-production prototype was shown earlier this year, and there are even glimpses of its interior.

But finally, the long wait will soon be over. Nearly two years after the concept was shown, the road-going version of the sports coupe (or at least a version close to it) could finally be revealed. It will make its premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which opens its doors next month.

Not much information was given about it, though. If anything, Honda just casually mentioned it when it revealed its plans for this year’s Goodwood show. What we do know is that the coupe will do the legendary hillclimb to give visitors a glimpse of its performance.

What we don’t know is if the car will still be wearing camouflage or if it bare it all. We’re hoping for the latter, of course, but we reckon Honda will show everything in its home court. If so, there’s a better chance of it being fully revealed with specifications during the Japan Mobility Show which will be held on October.

Either way, it’s exciting times for Honda, and the sports coupe revival is well underway.
