The Slate Truck isn’t due for deliveries until Q4 this year, but the American EV startup already has one collab ready to go ahead of launch. It’s teaming up with Crayola to offer special color options and accessories themed after the crayon company’s colors.
It might seem like an unlikely combo at first, but both parties share that with creativity at their core, working together seemed like a natural fit. In case you missed it, Slate Trucks start at $24,950 (around P1.53 million) and are designed to be cheap, accessible, and highly customizable EVs. Besides the vehicles themselves, a large part of Slate’s portfolio is made up of optional accessories that can be added to the base vehicle.
Watch: Slate x Crayola collab announcement
The Slate x Crayola collab is featuring five crayon colors: Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion. These shades will be available as body color options along with a matching key fob, badge, and decals. The curvy Crayola stripe is also present in a lot of places in the collab, with decals accenting the door sills and the side mirrors.

It’s worth noting that these colors are wraps, not paints—another cost-saving measure that also allows Slate to offer more customization options.

This is Crayola’s first-ever venture in the automotive scene, as Crayola global partnerships head Anna Roca shares: “We’re thrilled to partner with Slate on our first-ever automotive collaboration, transforming a vehicle into a canvas and giving drivers a bold and unexpected way to express their personalities through color and creativity—values that both our brands champion."
The Crayola x Slate bundles adds $1,549.99, or around P95,600 as of writing, on top of the truck’s starting price. It’s a novel concept for sure (as with the rest of Slate’s USP), but it’s pointed out that the price tag is steep for what it is. But what do you think of this collab?
