It’s only a matter of time before the Suzuki Fronx heads over to local showrooms. It was previewed fairly recently, although specs weren’t shown at the time.
The Fronx is Suzuki’s entry into the budget crossover segment. That means it’s up against the likes of the Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize, along with the barrage of crossovers from China.

Last time out, we were able to find a few specs of the upcoming model. This time around, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has listed a second variant in its database. That means we could expect at least two trim levels once it’s out.

So, what will they be? So far, we see GLX and SGX. The GLX is typically the top-spec trim for Suzuki, although it’s the first time we’re seeing SGX join the lineup. It’s possible that SGX is the top trim level.
For initial specs, there’s practically no difference from dimensions to weight. Even ground clearance was listed at 170mm each, and tire sizes are at 195/60R16. There are no differences in engine specifications either, meaning both SGX and GLX will be powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine.

That engine is good for 103hp and 138Nm, similar to the Ertiga and XL7. Both were listed at automatic, although it’s still unsure what kind of automatic it’s getting. The model previewed was the mild-hybrid version, so it might come with a six-speed automatic. If not, then it will have a four-speed automatic.
We’ll find out more about the Suzuki Fronx once it has been officially launched in the country. There’s no date locked in yet, but expect it before the end of the year.
