It looks like we finally have a launch date for the all-new Suzuki Jimny. The latest iteration of the Japanese carmaker’s iconic off-roader will make its Philippine debut on March 8, 2019—two weeks from now. We’ve already received an invitation from Suzuki Philippines for the Jimny’s local arrival.
The vehicle’s local distributor also says that the 4x4’s price will be revealed at the launch, too. Late last year, the company brought in the all-new Suzuki Jimny for the 2018 Philippine International Motor Show, and word at the time was the model would carry a price tag around the P1.1 million mark. We’ll soon find out if Suzuki Philippines sticks to that price point.
Another thing to note: The event invitation refers to the vehicle as the “all-new Jimny All-Grip Pro.” We’re assuming this is one of the official variants (an All-Grip unit was on display at last year’s PIMS). Will this be the only one available in the Philippines? We’ll know in a few weeks.
The all-new Jimny runs on a 1.5-liter engine and is built on a ladder frame with a three-link rigid-axle suspension. By the second week of March, we’ll find out what Suzuki PH will bring to our market. Will it be worth the wait? We’re just as excited as you are to find out.
