It looks like Suzuki is getting in on the ‘mini SUV’ craze now, too. The Japanese car manufacturer is following in the footsteps of rival carmakers Honda and Toyota and releasing a segment competitor of its own: The XL6.
The XL6 is a three-row mini SUV—by the looks of it a more macho, taller Suzuki Ertiga—that could potentially contend with the likes of the Honda BR-V and Toyota Rush. We say potentially because the vehicle has only been announced for the Indian market.
So far, only a photo of the XL6’s grille and interior has been released. There’s a concept sketch, too, but it doesn’t exactly reveal much either. Let’s talk about the images a little.
The front looks like an altered version of that found on the Ertiga, with bolder lines and what appears to be a dark matte plastic grille with a chrome strip running across. Inside, the cabin carries a dashboard design and layout similar to its MPV sibling, and it appears the vehicle will come with captain’s seats in the second row as an option. From the design sketch, you’ll see that the taillights have the same design as that on the Ertiga as well.
No word on engine details, though we don’t expect these to be too far off from the Ertiga’s either. Would you like to see Suzuki Philippines bring in the XL6 mini SUV?
