Barely two months after launching the highly anticipated Jimny 5-Door in the local market, Suzuki Philippines has now brought in a new model to our shores: the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid.
The Ertiga Hybrid’s higher-riding twin is listed as having two variants, but the second one is essentially just a two-tone version. The lower-spec XL7 Hybrid costs P74,000 more than the top-spec Ertiga Hybrid. Check out the prices below:

This XL7 has exactly the same engine and mild electrification as the Ertiga, too, so while it’s billed as a hybrid, it doesn’t qualify for number coding exemption since the electric component of the powertrain isn’t capable of propelling the vehicle on its own. The 1.5-liter gasoline engine works with a 12V system and an integrated starter generator to produce 103hp and 138Nm of torque.

Unlike the Ertiga, the XL7 Hybrid doesn’t have a manual option, only coming with an automatic transmission. It’s equipped with Suzuki’s Engine Auto Stop Start (EASS) system to help improve fuel consumption.

On the outside, the XL7 Hybrid features a slightly redesigned front grille compared with the non-hybrid version it replaces. It still has the rugged, sporty exterior elements differentiating it from the Ertiga, including front and rear bumper underguards and the standard roof rails. Inside, it retains the 10-inch touchscreen audio unit, but gains cruise control.
The GLX is available in Brave Khaki Pearl, Metallic Magma Gray, and Pearl Snow White. For the two-tone version, the choices are Rising Orange Pearl Metallic and Savanna Ivory Metallic, both with black pearl contrasting bodywork.
