If you own a 2022 Honda Civic, be advised that Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) has announced a voluntary safety recall covering 1,025 units of this particular model year of its compact sedan.

According to Honda, the worm gear of the electric power steering gearbox in the affected units was either improperly installed or manufactured. If you’ve been hearing an unusual sound when turning the steering wheel, it’s most likely caused by this issue. There have been no reported accidents related to this in the local market, but as a precaution, HCPI will replace the electric power steering gearbox of the affected units.
