Tesla has already established its footing here in the local market, with a wide range of electric vehicles with competitive prices across the board. Now, however, the offerings just got even more competitive for the American EV giant.

The new Tesla Model 3 Standard has just been launched in the Philippines, and it carries a P1.838 million price tag. It’s now the most affordable variant in the Model 3 range. Heck, it’s now even the most affordable model in the local Tesla stable.

Visually, the Standard trim looks the same as the other Model 3s in the range. Mechanically, however, it differs. The Standard has a maximum range of up to 534km, though it still supports supercharging at 225kW, so you can get up to 170km of range with just 15 minutes of charging.

With the arrival of this new variant, the Model 3 can now also compete against the likes of the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis, which are electrified compact sedans that also run on fuel, not just electricity.

Along with the Standard trim, Tesla has also added the Premium Long Range RWD variant with a sticker price of P2.343 million. This higher spec isn’t the quickest in the Model 3 family, but it now has the longest range at 750km.
