It’s been quite the year for Toyota. The automotive giant had quite the spectacle at the recently concluded 2025 Japan Mobility Show, where it showcased Century as its new flagship luxury brand and announced it will be building new cars under the Toyota Gazoo Racing brand.

Now, the latter is coming into fruition. At the big reveal of the Lexus LFA Concept, Toyota Gazoo Racing also unveiled the new GR GT and GR GT3—its two new flagship models. According to Toyota, these follow the footsteps of the 2000GT and the LFA.

“One of the aims of the development of the GR GT and GR GT3 was to preserve and pass on ‘the secret sauce of carmaking’ to the next generation as ‘Toyota’s Shikinen Sengu.’ The two models are the result of veterans of development of the Lexus LFA transferring skills and techniques to younger members, the active adoption of new, Toyota-first technologies for enhanced vehicle performance, and the taking on of numerous unprecedented challenges.”

The GR GT is the road-legal race car among the two. It looks absolutely sleek and sporty, still bearing that signature Toyota front end but with an elongated hood that helps emphasize the two-door coupe’s sporty silhouette. The rear is equally as stylish as the front, and if anything, it actually has hints of LFA to it.

The GR GT3 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with a single electric motor. The system puts out a total of 641hp and 850Nm of torque and is mated to a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota put emphasis on lowering the car’s center of gravity, which also involved lowering the driver’s position. It’s also built on Toyota’s first all-aluminum body frame, so its chassis remains rigid but lightweight. The body panels also have carbon-fiber reinforced plastic.

It has a beautiful red interior, also with hints of premium Lexus here and there, but still mostly sticking to the sporty Gazoo Racing aesthetic. It gets carbon-ceramic disc brakes and double wishbone with coil springs, both up front and out back. Toyota claims this car can do 320kph “or greater.”

The GR GT3, meanwhile, is the track weapon of the two. It meets the specifications of the Federation Internationale d’Automobile GT3, the top category of production vehicle-based customer motorsports. It’s based on the GR GT, but it puts more focus on track drivability and performance.

These are just prototypes at the moment, but we expect the final products not to look too far off from these. We’re not quite sure yet as well whether or not they’ll arrive in the Philippines once they reach production, but we’re surely hoping they do.
