The all-new, fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 broke cover nearly a year ago at the New York International Auto Show. Now, Toyota has just debuted the car in Southeast Asia at the 2019 Singapore Motorshow.

The new compact SUV’s exterior has more angular design cues than the preceding model—a reflection of current design trends. Up front, you get swept-back headlamps and a bold grille. Sharp lines run along the sides, which also feature angular wheel-arch claddings in black. Underneath, you get 18-inch wheels and disc brakes all around. In the US, the new generation is advertised as having a unibody chassis that provides 57% more rigidity than its predecessor.

The Singapore-spec RAV4 gets a 2.0-liter in-line-four that puts out 170hp and 203Nm through a CVT and is capable of a 190kph top speed. On-board features include auto headlamps, push-button start, hill-start assist, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and the Toyota Safety Sense package.
