The Toyota Tamaraw UV, Aluminum Cargo body styles now have automatic variants

Just in time for the worsening holiday traffic situation, the long-wheelbase diesel-powered Toyota Tamaraw now has two additional automatic variants.

Previously, you could only purchase an automatic Tamaraw as the top-spec GL Dropside, but this transmission option is now available on the Utility Van (UV) and Aluminum Cargo body styles. Here are the prices below:

New Toyota Tamaraw automatic variants

1. 2.4 GL Aluminum Cargo DSL AT – P1,167,000
2. 2.4 GL Utility Van DSL AT – P1,307,000

The GL Dropside DSL AT is still priced at P1,075,000.

Tamaraw ambassador Coco Martin himself announced the new variants at the Next Generation Tamaraw Roadshow held on December 7 at Toyota Marilao. Incidentally, this Bulacan dealership tops Tamaraw sales in the entire country. Display units of the new variants were not yet available on the day of the event, so pictured here are the manual variants of the UV and Aluminum Cargo body styles.

Powering the long-wheelbase Tamaraws is the 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV turbodiesel engine that puts out 148hp and 400Nm of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic. The top GL trim gets LED headlamps (versus halogens), 16-inch alloys (versus steelies), and a seven-inch multimedia screen (versus a double-DIN head unit).
