Budget-car shoppers will be glad to know that the Toyota Vios is now available in a more affordable, CVT-equipped package.
The Toyota Vios 1.3 XE is being pitched by the Japanese carmaker as an “entry-level but top-quality sedan” with a continuously variable transmission. Prior to this announcement, the most affordable CVT-equipped Vios was the 1.3 E CVT at P878,000.
Priced at just P735,000, the XE will slot between the 1.3 J MT and 1.3E MT. Underneath the Vios XE’s hood is the same 1.3-liter Dual VVT-i engine capable of 98hp and 123Nm of torque.
It’s a competitively priced vehicle that’ll surely appeal to buyers looking for an inexpensive Toyota ownership experience and the convenience of a CVT-equipped car. The best part? The Vios XE still comes with seven airbags and a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with Bluetooth capability.
“Now more than ever, Filipino drivers will get to experience the comfort of automatic transmission while enjoying all the hallmark features of the Toyota brand,” said Toyota Motor Philippines vice president Cristina Arevalo. “And because it’s a Vios, customers can still expect to get the most out of their investment with the high resale value and reasonable maintenance cost that the model has been known for.”
