As you know, there are two versions of the Toyota Yaris Cross sold worldwide. The first one is fully developed by the company utilizing the Toyota New Global Architecture platform.
It’s mainly sold in Japan (obviously), Australia and New Zealand, and the rest of Europe.
The second one is what we get here. Primarily engineered by Daihatsu, it uses the Daihatsu

New Global Architecture instead. The version we get is mainly sold in ‘emerging markets’ such as Southeast Asia, Central America, and South America.

In 2024, one of the Toyota Yaris Cross versions gets a facelift. Unfortunately, it’s not the Daihatsu-based model that gets it. Instead, it’s the Japanese Toyota-engineered model that gets it first. Still, it’s interesting to see what’s been changed.
For the most part, the updates are subtle. Perhaps the most noticeable difference is the new grille pattern that Toyota says is ‘more reminiscent of an SUV’. Mind you, the GR Sport variant carries over largely unchanged. Toyota also added a new color dubbed Massive Gray to the options list.

Inside, the JDM-spec Yaris Cross recipes a 7-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster. The infotainment touchscreen is new this year, and select variants get new interior trims finished in gunmetal.
Okay, so it doesn’t get drastic changes, but it’s a minor model change after all. But if you’re curious how much the JDM Yaris Cross costs, it ranges from ¥1,907,000 to ¥3,156,000. All variants are offered with either hybrid power or regular internal combustion engines, along with front or all-wheel drive.

At current conversion rates, that’s roughly P725,000 to P1,200,000. Not bad, eh?
