Vinfast has presented yet another EV model. Wanting a slice of the mini electric vehicle market cornered by the Chinese at the moment, the Vietnamese automaker has rolled out the Minio Green.

It’s no concept car, either. VinFast is dead serious in making it a mass market model. Its main purpose is to serve as a four-wheeled alternative to motorcycles. One can think of it as a modern interpretation of the Tata Nano, although hopefully it becomes a greater success than that.

To give you an idea of how small the Minio Green is, this model slots below the VF3, which isn’t what anyone would large by any measure. Styling is reminiscent of Chinese mini EVs, but it’s more rounded and has a touch of added flair with those bug-eyed headlights and vertical tail lights. It rides on steel rims, presumably to keep costs down, and it looks as simple and uncluttered as it can be.

Sadly, there are no interior photos of the tiny EV just yet. That said, we’re expecting it to be on bare side, save for a couple of screens, perhaps. Given its size, it’ll be a four-seater at best.

As for the motor, it uses a single motor mounted at the pack that puts out 27hp and 65Nm. Range, er, ranges from 120km (Eco) to 180km (Plus) and has a maximum charging rate of 12kW. If anyone’s curious about performance, top speed is capped at 85kph and does 0 to 50kph in 6.5 seconds.

How much is the VinFast Minio Green? It is yet to be disclosed, but given the low price of the VF3, we expect it to be even more affordable.
