VinFast Philippines is determined to make an impact on the local market. Aside from having a whole slew of electric vehicles, it just launched one of the least expensive EVs in the country recently.
We are, of course, talking about the VinFast VF3. Aside from its looks, one can say that its pricing has also caught the attention of curious punters out there.

To recap, the VF3 starts at P605,000, but that’s with a battery subscription and for a limited time only. If you want with the battery included, you can get it for P705,000, again for its introductory pricing. After that, the one with the subscription retails for P645,000, while the one with the battery included carries an SRP of P745,000.
On top of that, VinFast Philippines claims that the VF3 is less expensive to run compared to a A-segment hatchback. Some examples of these include the Toyota Wigo, Honda Brio, and Suzuki Celerio.

Based on VinFast’s computation, an average small hatchback costs P5,600 a month to run for 1,500km, P9,300 for 2,500km, and P13,000 for 3,500km. For comparison, the VF3’s monthly operating costs are at P5,200 per month for 1,500km, P7,800 for 2,500km, and P11,700 for 3,500km. The monthly operating expenses also include the battery subscription.
With that, VinFast Philippines says its VF3 is a ‘cost-effective solution’ for daily commutes. It added that electric vehicles require less maintenance as there is no need for oil changes and the fewer mechanical parts mean longer service intervals.

So, will the lower costs sway the car-buying public to consider the VinFast VF3? We’ll let the sales figures do the talking down the line.
