Isuzu Philippines Corp. wrapped up the second round of the 2010 Isuzu Challenge with the Crosswind XL covering 1,190 kilometers on a single tank of fuel--that’s 21.64 kilometers traveled for every liter of diesel.
The Isuzu Crosswind XL equipped with a 2.5-liter engine started its journey from the Isuzu showroom in Cauayan City, Isabela. It crossed the provinces of Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac and went all the way to Southern Luzon before its 55-liter tank finally ran out of fuel in San Isidro, Tagcauayan, in Quezon.
“This run proves once again that the Isuzu Crosswind is the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class,” Isuzu Philippines president Ryoji Yamazaki said in a statement. “With the proper driving techniques, the Crosswind is very much capable of yielding such fuel mileage even in real-world driving conditions.”
By correctly guessing the exact mileage of the Isuzu vehicle in this round of the Isuzu Challenge, long-time Isuzu customer Ryan Dexter Dizon won a brand-new Crosswind unit. Dizon used to own a Hi-Lander, Isuzu’s first Asian utility vehicle (AUV), and he just bought a new Crosswind Sportivo prior to winning his new Isuzu AUV.
The last round of the Isuzu Challenge, which will be run by a D-Max pickup truck, is scheduled to start on October 20. The person who can guess its exact mileage (or the closest without going over it the actual mileage during the run) will win a brand-new D-Max unit. Entries will be accepted only until October 19 at www.isuzudieselmission.com.ph.
