An executive of Ford Philippines has admitted to TopGear.com.ph that he thinks Korean brands are the next big thing in the automotive industry. From exterior styling to groundbreaking technologies, "you can already see it happening," he told us, noting that both Hyundai and Kia are now doing extremely well in our market.

The Ford executive even went on to make an analogy.

"Hyundai will be like Samsung and Kia will be like LG," he said.

And Toyota?

"Toyota will be like Sony," he added.

Ouch. If we understood correctly, he meant to say that the Koreans will eventually overtake the Japanese in the car business, just as they did in the field of consumer electronics.
