Ford Group Philippines, which also distributes the Mazda brand, said the Ford brand sold 20 percent more vehicles from January to June compared with the same months last year.
Sales were led by the Ford Everest with 1,065 units sold in the first six months of the year, 25 percent higher than the vehicle's sales in the same period in 2009.
Ford Escape sales surged 36 percent year-on-year with 834 units sold, while the Ford Focus sales were up 21 percent with 425 units sold.
Ford expects to sustain its strong performance for the rest of the year with the upcoming release of a new vehicle in the Philippine market.
"We're confident for sales to remain strong through the second half of the year, which will be led by the upcoming and highly-anticipated launch of the new Ford Fiesta," said Randy Krieger, Ford Group Philippines president.
The Ford Group, which includes the Mazda brand, is currently the sixth biggest manufacturer in the Philippines in terms of sales.
