If ownership of a Maserati just isn't exclusive or posh enough for you, then perhaps what you need is a model that the Italian carmaker produced in collaboration with an iconic Italian fashion brand: the Maserati GranCabrio Fendi.
With input from Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Maserati GranCabrio Fendi is assembled created in the carmaker's headquarters in Modena before it is clad with materials that have been exclusively created for this project.
The three-layer body color is a special dark grey with an iridescent golden finish on the surface. Wood trim runs across the width of the dashboard, on the doors and on the gear lever, all in the iconic Fendi yellow, much like the brake calipers and the embroidered Maserati trident logo on the headrests.
Further emphasizing Fendi's hand in the creation of the Maserati GranCabrio Fendi is the fashion house's double F logo, which is not only stitched on the seat but also appears in the center of the 20-inch alloy wheels. The Fendi logo also makes an appearance on the car's rocker panel.
For the interior, Fendi used the precious leather of its Selleria line for the instrument cluster, gear lever and for the profile of the floor mats. The material is also used in the limited-edition travel set of luggage and accessories.
A silver oval plaque with the engraving of the Maserati and Fendi logos and the five-digit series number--five being an iconic number for Fendi--is located on the dashboard, in front of the passenger seat and on both sides of the black cloth folding roof.
Literally topping off the Maserati GranCabrio Fendi is a special black car cover with Fendi's double F logo emblazoned on it.
Maserati will display the GranCabrio Fendi at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
