Goodyear Philippines invites everybody to spend the long weekend in a worthwhile and meaningful way by learning more about the practice of road safety.

The "Goodyear Pa Rin: Celebrating 111 Years of Safety Innovation" road show kicked off on August 21 at the SM Mall of Asia, and for the rest of the weekend, the tiremaker has lined up a series of activities for the entire family.

Goodyear Philippines president and managing director Dave Morin was present to formally launch the road show during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and stressed that the company will continue with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) undertakings. This is despite the upcoming shutdown of the local Goodyear plant in Las Pinas next month.

Among the company's long-running CSR projects is "Bayani ng Kalsada"--now on its fourth year--which gives credit to everyday heroes who have performed simple yet commendable acts of road safety and courtesy.

For the weekend, however, one of the main highlights is the "Women With Drive" seminar, which teaches women the basics of car maintenance, safe driving, and other aspects of car ownership.

Another activity is the "Ride and Drive Clinic" to be held at the open parking lot in front of the SMX Convention center. Teaming up with Goodyear for this is the Tuason Racing School (TRS). Participants of this activity will get to try out the TRS Ford Focus touring car fitted with Goodyear Excellence tires.

Goodyear's product display--which includes all seven of their locally distributed models, three of which are fitted on display vehicles--will remain at the Mall of Asia Atrium until August 23.
