Alright, so the Suzuki Jimny is our reigning Car of the Year. The Japanese carmaker’s tiny off-roader beat out some pretty stiff competition, including but not limited to the all-new Toyota Supra, Kia Stinger, and all-new Mazda 3.
So, how did we at Top Gear Philippines come to this conclusion? By voting on it, of course. We chose based on one simple premise: Which car model made the most impact in the market in 2019? We’re not talking about sales or marketing impact, but mainly what got people excited and this year.
A total of 13 in-house staff and contributing writers made up the panel for Car of the Year 2019. Each panelist gets to pick five cars from a list of qualified vehicles, with the first to fifth picks getting 10 points, seven points, five points, three points, and one point, respectively.
