It looks like a ton of people have been buying the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) has just posted a 205% monthly unit sales increase this September, and the humble subcompact sedan was a big part of the brand’s big bounce-back success.
MMPC sold a total of 1,873 Mirage G4 units in September, topping sales of the sedan in August 2020 by a whopping 391%. Those figures easily make the G4 the carmaker’s top performer locally, with the L300 coming in at second with 1,698 units sold (a 253% jump compared to the previous month). The company is attributing its strong performance last month to its Mitsubishi Rollback promo, which significantly reduced the price of both models.
“September was a very good month for MMPC. We are truly grateful to our clients who patronized our brand. We would also like to commend our dealer partners who have displayed strong resiliency towards the tough challenge that we are all facing,” MMPC president and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri said in a statement.
“We are all geared to finish the year in high spirits and will continue to create programs that will provide easy ownership and excellent customer experience.”
Not bad. Not bad at all. Other Mitsubishi offerings that did well last month include the Xpander which sold a total of 899 units (144% increase), the Strada which sold 656 units (116% increase), and even the Pajero with 25 units sold (277% jump).
Because of the public’s positive reception, MMPC says it is extending its Mitsubishi Rollback deals until October 31, 2020. Under the promo, customers can buy the Mirage G4 for as low as P528,000, and the L300 for P698,000 (without the rear body). Will you be dropping by a dealership to take advantage of these rates?
