Ayala Corporation-owned AC Industrials just announced some organizational and executive movements earlier today, and it appears that big changes are up for AC Motors.
The company’s press release reads: “Moving forward, AC Motors will organize itself into two distinct businesses—automotive and motorcycle—to allow the group to capitalize on the unique growth opportunities in each sector.”
Taking the helm as president of AC Motors’ automotive business unit effective October 1, 2020 is Antonio ‘Toti’ Zara III. He will also serve as president of the different dealership companies of AC Motors. Under this unit are the Kia, Volkswagen, and Maxus distributorships as well as some Honda and Isuzu dealerships.
“Toti brings with him 30 years of experience in the global and local automotive industry covering service, sales, and marketing functions,” said AC Industrials chairman and CEO Arthur Tan. “We welcome his experience and hope he can add fresh and innovative perspectives to help accelerate the strategies we have set forth and started in order to navigate this crisis and take advantage of the long-term trends that continue to drive the industry’s evolution.”
On the other hand, leading AC Motors’ motorcycle division—which includes manufacturing, distribution, and retail operations of KTM and Husqvarna—will be Dino Santos. Manny Aligada will remain president of the Kia distributorship under KP Motors Corporation and Felipe Estrella will continue to serve as president of Automobile Central Enterprise.
