As electrified public transportation continues to grow in the country, ACMobility and Basic Energy have partnered up to support the movement by building more EV infrastructure. The initiative aligns with Basic Energy’s Iwas Taas Pamasahe E-Transport Solutions Program, which enables local transport operators to transition to electric mobility while protecting commuters from fluctuating fare hikes.

The program allows transport groups to use electric buses without dealing with upfront costs. Instead, the vehicle’s payment is gradually deducted from the operator’s daily earnings, which eventually allows them to own the vehicle after five years.

The partnership will help modernize public transportation through the Love E-Bus fleet. ACMobility will construct EV charging stations along key bus routes, for the use of both electric PUVs and private vehicles.

According to ACMobility, the next charging hub is expected to rise at the Total fuel station on the northbound side of the South Luzon Expressway. In addition, the partners are currently exploring several other locations, including sites in Mandaluyong, Cainta, Marikina, and Sumulong Highway. Other planned installations include strategic corridors such as E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, Visayas Avenue, Newport City in Pasay, and EDSA.

“Our transition to electric mobility can only be complete if we also electrify public transport. Through our partnership with Basic Energy, we are building an EV charging network that powers not just private vehicles but also public transportation fleets from north to south,” said ACMobility head of mobility infrastructure Carla Buencamino. “This is at the core of ACMobility’s mission to build a comprehensive electric mobility system in the Philippines.”

“Our partnership with ACMobility is a vital component of Basic Energy’s mission to provide sustainable and accessible transport solutions for Filipinos,” said Basic Energy president and CEO Oscar De Venecia Jr. “The rollout of EV charging infrastructure across our Total and EcoOil network strengthens the foundation needed to support the growing shift to electric public transport.”
